There can be many barriers to mental health care, and I hope to lower those barriers as much as possible. Between the pandemic and other societal changes, there is a greater burden of stress and mental illness. My goals are to help you address your concerns and improve your understanding of yourself.

  • As of August 2022, Dr. Marken is an appointed clinical assistant professor at New York University-Langone Health.

  • Dr. Marken was appointed to the faculty of Harvard Medical School while working at Massachusetts General Hospital. After moving to New York, Dr. Marken is now faculty at NYU.

  • Dr. Marken has presented locally and nationally on a variety of topics ranging from depression to resilience to child trafficking.

Working with you or your child to develop and better understanding of oneself. Dr. Marken has experience with several therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic, CBT, interpersonal, play-based, reflective, and meditative.

mEDICATION

Medication can be helpful in addressing mental health concerns. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Marken is able to assess for and prescribe medications when appropriate.

Working with families or couples to address relational strains. Dr. Marken often focuses on behavioral patterns and improving communication.

Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School

Dr. Marken worked at MGH where he had an appointment as faculty at Harvard Medical School.

New York Presbyterian - Columbia / Cornell

Dr. Marken completed his child and adolescent psychiatry training at the joint Columbia-Cornell program where he also served as chief resident.

New York University - Langone Health

As of August 2022, Dr. Marken is working at NYU-Langone Health Center as a clinical assistant professor.

Insurance

Dr. Marken does not accept any insurance plans through his private practice. All costs are to be paid out of pocket. Some insurance plans may reimburse for a percentage of costs of out-of-network treatment. Dr. Marken is able to provide a statement with necessary information that can be sent to insurance companies for potential reimbursement.
